Dr Edward Grimm, Optometrist

Dr Edward Grimm, Optometrist
A native of Annapolis Royal, Dr. Grimm spent a year attending Dalhousie University and then transferred to the University of Waterloo, graduating in 1976. That year he took over the Annapolis Royal practice from his father, Dr. Keith Grimm.

He is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists (NSAO). He has served on the NSAO Council, including a term as secretary-treasurer. Dr. Grimm has chaired both the Discipline Committee and the Board of Examiners of the provincial association. He also has been editor of the NSAO newsletter, InFocus.

Dr. Grimm and his wife, Kathy, have two daughters - Jenna and Karla. They have a corgi-mix dog, Shiloh, who prefers to go by the name Buster!

Phyllis joined our team in September 2007. Phyllis was raised in the Annapolis Royal/Bridgetown area. She brings with her many years of customer service experience having worked with the Historic Gardens, Community Services, and Pearson Peacekeeping Centre in Cornwallis. In her spare time she enjoys attending her son’s sport events and vacation with her in-laws at there home in Cape Breton.  Phyllis will be happy to help you choose your new frames and lenses which best suite your needs.

Rosie Smith, Receptionist

Rosie has been the receptionist for Dr. Grimm’s practice since 1997. She will be happy to arrange your next appointment and answer any questions.

Diane Burbidge, Technician
A native of the beautiful Annapolis Valley, Diane began her career as an Ophthalmic Medical Technician in October 1992 with Dr. T.W. Shaw (F.R.C.S.(c)). Upon his retirement in July 1998, Diane was offered a position with Dr. Scott’s team for where she is employed today. Diane resides in New Minas with her husband Larry and teenage son, Mitchell.

Dr. Robert C. Scott, B. Eng. & Mgmt., M.Eng., M.D., FRCSC, Ophthalmologist
Born and raised in the U.K., Dr. Robert C. Scott immigrated to Canada in 1976. He began his studies at McMaster University in the field of Engineering and upon obtaining his Masters Degree, he changed his focus to medicine and further graduate studies took place at Dalhousie University. He began practice in general ophthalmology in 1998 in Kentville. The practice encompasses all aspects of ophthalmology, with particular emphasis on cataract diagnosis and surgery, glaucoma, laser treatment and pediatric eye care.
