Dr Yves Levesque, Optometrist
Originally from Saint-Basile, in northwest New Brunswick, Dr. Levesque graduated from University of Waterloo in 1994. He then moved to Halifax where he worked for a year and a half. Dr. Levesque purchased an office in Liverpool in 1996 and started another one in Digby that same year.  He really enjoys practicing in friendly rural Nova-Scotia. He is licensed to prescribe medication to treat ocular infection, dry eyes and ocular allergies in addition to removing foreign bodies.

Dr. Levesque has always been very involved in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and served on council of that organization for four years. Most of his time outside the office is now being spent with his young kids and wife. When he has some spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing, swimming, sailing and playing tennis.

Dr Sara Wilkinson, Optometrist
Originally from Port Mouton, Dr. Sara Wilkinson graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree (Advanced Major in Biology). She then attended the University of Waterloo. She worked at our Liverpool office as a student and also did her externship with Dr. Levesque. Dr. Wilkinson graduated in 2004 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

Dr. Wilkinson began working at the Digby location in August 2004 soon after graduating. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is currently chair of the Canadian Optometric Education Trust Fund committee for Nova Scotia, and a member of the Children’s Vision committee.

In her spare time Dr. Wilkinson enjoys skating, curling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Mark Kepes, Optometrist
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Kepes has joined our practice. Dr. Kepes received his Honours Bachelor of Science (Dean's Honours) from the University of Waterloo. He continued his education at the University of Waterloo where he received his Doctor of Optometry (Dean's Honours). Dr. Kepes has trained at the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Centre in Mesa, Arizona and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists as well as the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists.Dr. Kepes is originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario and enjoys running, playing hockey, golfing and being outdoors. Dr. Kepes is excited to start exploring the South Shore.

Crystal, Certified Optometric Assistant
Crystal graduated from Nova Scotia Community College in the spring of 1984 from a two year Graphic Art & Design program. She worked for a computer software and internet company for seven years prior to joining Dr. Levesque’s office in July 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July 1999, the first year it was offered in Canada. Crystal has been with our team since the beginning in July 1996 and brings years of experience in helping you choose frames and lenses that best suites your needs.

Ruth, Receptionist
Ruth has been with our eye care team from the beginning in July of 1996. She worked with Dr. Comeau previous to this for eight years. Ruth runs the front desk, and it is her smiling face that will great you when you come to our office in Digby.

Lisa, Lab Technician, Certified Optometric Assistan
Lisa joined our eye care team in March of 2004.  She became a certified optometric assistant in July of 2005.  Lisa now works full time in our Digby practice in our edging lab.     

Shawna, Certified Optometric Assistant
Shawna has been with our eye care team since May 2005. She recently completed the Optometric Assistant program and is back to work full time after being at home for a year with a new baby. Shawna spends her free time with her husband Jonathan, son Ryker and daughter Sydney. She will be happy to help you chose from a wide selection of frames and lenses to suite your optical needs.

Jackie, Certified Optometric Assistant
Jackie first joined our team in February of 1997. She left for a couple of years to help with her husband’s refrigeration business. Jackie completed her course and became a Certified Optometric Assistant in October 2007. Jackie will be happy to help you select your new set of eye glasses as well as answer any questions you might have.

Tanya, Optometric Assistant
Tanya joined our team in October 2007. Tanya has a strong customer service background in retail management and is currently enrolled in the Optometric Assistant Certification Course. In her free time she enjoys scrapbooking, baking, singing, tole painting and spending time with her husband Matt and son Taylor.
