Yves Levesque, Optometrist

Dr Yves Levesque, Optometrist
Originally from Saint-Basile, in northwest New Brunswick, Dr. Levesque graduated from University of Waterloo in 1994. He then moved to Halifax where he worked for a year and a half. Dr. Levesque purchased the Liverpool office in 1996 and started another one in Digby that same year. He really enjoys practicing in friendly rural Nova-Scotia. He is licensed to prescribe medication to treat ocular infection, dry eyes and ocular allergies in addition to removing foreign bodies.

Dr. Levesque has always been very involved in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and served on council of that organization for four years. Most of his time outside the office is now being spent with his young kids and wife. When he has some spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing, swimming, sailing and playing tennis.

Dr. Mark Kepes, Optometrist

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Kepes has joined our practice. Dr. Kepes received his Honours Bachelor of Science (Dean's Honours) from the University of Waterloo. He continued his education at the University of Waterloo where he received his Doctor of Optometry (Dean's Honours). Dr. Kepes has trained at the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Centre in Mesa, Arizona and is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists as well as the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists.Dr. Kepes is originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario and enjoys running, playing hockey, golfing and being outdoors. Dr. Kepes is excited to start exploring the South Shore.

Tanya graduated from the Accounting Program at the Nova Scotia Community College in 1993. She has been in the optometric field since 1994, joining Dr. Levesque's practice in July of 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July of 2000.  As well as fitting eye glasses, she does the book keeping for all three locations. Tanya spends her spare time with her two children and cocker spaniel Macie.

Heather graduated from the Hospitality Administration program at the University College of Cape Breton in 1987 and she joined Dr. Levesque's practice in July 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistants course in August 1999 when it first became available in Canada.  Heather spends her free time with her husband, Rob, and their two children Amelia and Rhys.

Beverly Llewellyn, Lab Technician, Certified Optometric Assistant

Wendy, Certified Optometric Assistant 
Wendy joined Dr. Levesque's practice in 1997. Starting out on a part-time basis and has been working full time since 2000. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July 2002. Wendy spends her free time with her husband Steve and new granddaughter, Casey, at her cabin in Greenfield.

Joining our team in February 2008, Tanya graduated with a Hospitality & Tourism diploma from Lunenburg Campus in 1999 and is currently enrolled in the Optometric Assistant program. She is currently doing pre-testing and spends some of her time in the eye glass dispensary.  On Tanya’s days off she can be found spending time with her husband, Todd and their two daughters, Lauren and Addison.

Julie joined our team in April of 2008. This fall she will be taking the Optometric Assistant program. She is currently doing pre-testing and eye glass repairs. Julie enjoys spending time with her husband Raymond, daughter Kara and son Mitchell.  When she has free time she likes to visit with family and friends.

Amanda Borden

Amanda Borden
Amanda received her Medical Office Administration diploma in 2007 in Halifax. After living in Halifax for four years she moved back to her hometown of Liverpool in the summer of 2009 and joined Dr. Levesque's eye care team the fall of that year. Amanda spends her spare time walking and taking care of her dogs and other pets.

Heather Huskins

Heather Huskins
Heather graduated from the Annapolis Campus Community College in 1998 with a Diploma in Applied Communication Arts. She graduated from the Halifax Campus Community College in 1999 and 2001 with diplomas in Photography and Digital Imaging. Since returning to her hometown in 2001, she has operated her own part time Photography business. In her free time she enjoys scenic photography and spending time with her nephews.
