Dr Yves Levesque, Optometrist
Originally from Saint-Basile, in northwest New Brunswick, Dr. Levesque graduated from University of Waterloo in 1994. He then moved to Halifax where he worked for a year and a half. Dr. Levesque purchased the Liverpool office in 1996 and started another one in Digby that same year. He really enjoys practicing in friendly rural Nova-Scotia. He is licensed to prescribe medication to treat ocular infection, dry eyes and ocular allergies in addition to removing foreign bodies.

Dr. Levesque has always been very involved in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and served on council of that organization for four years. Most of his time outside the office is now being spent with his young kids and wife. When he has some spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing, swimming, sailing and playing tennis.

Dr Erin Sheppard, Optometrist
Dr. Erin Sheppard is a native of Nova Scotia and has enjoyed practicing in the South Shore area since 2004. She received her undergraduate training at Dalhousie University where she specialized in the health sciences. She then completed her optometric education at the University of Waterloo. During her training, she spent four months in Calgary, doing a therapeutic internship in private practice. She is now licensed to prescribe ocular medications to treat infection, allergy, inflammation and dry eye. She spent her first year back in Nova Scotia practicing in Halifax but is now enjoying the South Shore experience and is currently accepting new patients.

She is an active member of the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and has enjoyed being Chair of the Children's Vision Committee for the past two years.

She spends her free time with her husband Patrick, a science teacher. They can often be seen trudging through their neighborhood with their 11 year-old husky.

Tanya, Office Manager, Certified Optometric Assistant
Tanya graduated from the Accounting Program at the Nova Scotia Community College in 1993. She has been in the optometric field since 1994, joining Dr. Levesque's practice in July of 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July of 2000.  As well as fitting eye glasses, she does the book keeping for all three locations.  Tanya spends her spare time with her husband Rodney, and their two children Skyler and Rogan.

Heather, Certified Optometric Assistant
Heather graduated from the Hospitality Administration program at the University College of Cape Breton in 1987 and she joined Dr. Levesque's practice in July 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistants course in August 1999 when it first became available in Canada.  Heather spends her free time with her husband, Rob, and their two children Amelia and Rhys.

Wendy, Certified Optometric Assistant 
Wendy joined Dr. Levesque's practice in 1997. Starting out on a part-time basis and has been working full time since 2000. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July 2002.  Wendy can be seen in her spare time walking her two dogs, Murphy and Kirby with her husband Steve.

Elizabeth Mitton, Certified Optometric Assistant
Elizabeth joined our eye care team in the summer of 2001. She had worked previously at an Optometrist’s office in Ontario and was a perfect fit for our practice after returning to her home town of Liverpool. Elizabeth became a certified optometric assistant in July of 2002. Elizabeth spends her free time with her husband, Reid and their three children Jody, Noah and Mara.

Tanya, Optometric Assistant in training 
Joining our team in February 2008, Tanya graduated with a Hospitality & Tourism diploma from Lunenburg Campus in 1999 and is currently enrolled in the Optometric Assistant program.  She is currently doing pre-testing and spends some of her time in the eye glass dispensary.  On Tanya’s days off she can be found spending time with her husband, Todd and their two daughters, Lauren and Addison.

Julie, Optometric Assistant in training
Julie joined our team in April of 2008.  This fall she will be taking the Optometric Assistant program.  She is currently doing pre-testing and eye glass repairs.  Julie enjoys spending time with her husband Raymond, daughter Kara and son Mitchell.  When she has free time she likes to visit with family and friends.
