Dr. Jeffrey Clarke originally grew up in southwestern Ontario, where he began working in optometry
clinics in 2002. He went to the University of Waterloo for his Bachelor of Science, before going on to
study Opticianry at Georgian College (Barrie, Ontario). Dr. Clarke continued his studies at Aston
University (Birmingham, UK) and obtained his Masters of Optometry degree in 2013. During his time at
Aston, he received the Elsevier award for best overall performance in clinics.
While completing his Optometry degree, Dr. Clarke underwent an internship at the Royal Derby Hospital
(Derby, UK) and worked at optometry practices in both Long Eaton and Dover, UK. Dr. Clarke was a council
member of the UK Association of Optometrists, where he sat on the membership committee and helped share
the student’s voice on council.
After returning back to Canada, Dr. Clarke has been practicing in Alliston, Ontario before he and his
fiancé decided to move to Nova Scotia. He is excited to put down roots in the Maritimes and looks
forward to getting involved in the community.
Dr. Sara Wilkinson
Originally from Port Mouton, Dr. Sara Wilkinson graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 with a
Bachelor of Science degree (Advanced Major in Biology). She then attended the University of Waterloo.
She worked at our Liverpool office as a student and also did her externship with Dr. Levesque. Dr.
Wilkinson graduated in 2004 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.
Dr. Wilkinson began working at the Digby location in August 2004 soon after graduating. She is a member
of the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She has
served on the Children’s Vision COETF and AGM Committees. When not at work,
Dr. Wilkinson keeps busy with her two young kids and husband.
Dr. Yves Levesque
Originally from Saint-Basile, in northwest New Brunswick, Dr. Levesque graduated from University of
Waterloo in 1994. He then moved to Halifax where he worked for a year and a half. Dr. Levesque purchased
the Liverpool office in 1996 and started another one in Digby that same year. He really enjoys
practicing in friendly rural Nova-Scotia. He is licensed to prescribe medication to treat ocular
infection, dry eyes and ocular allergies in addition to removing foreign bodies.
Dr. Levesque has always been very involved in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and served on
council of that organization for four years. Most of his time outside the office is now being spent with
his young kids and wife. When he has some spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing,
swimming, sailing and playing tennis.
Calista joined our practice in 2020. With several
years’ experience in customer service, she is
looking forward to helping you in both Digby
And Annapolis offices. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with
family and her dog, Bear.
Shayna recently joined our team in October 2017. Shayna graduated from
NSCC in June of 2015 with a diploma in Pharmacy Technology. She has
steadily become an asset to the team and part of the family in both the
Liverpool and Annapolis offices. She will be the friendly face that pretests
you before seeing the Optometrist.
Dr. Kathleen MacDonald was born and raised in Souris, PEI. She graduated from the University of Prince
Edward Island with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) with a major in biology in 2009. She attended the
University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science and earned her Doctor of Optometry in
2015. During her studies, she volunteered at a clinic in Paraguay through the Volunteer Optometric
Services to Humanity (VOSH). After graduation she practiced in NS and PEI before moving to Meadow Lake,
In her spare time, Dr. MacDonald enjoys reading, running, hockey and helping out with her father’s
lobster fishing fleet. She is very happy to be back in the Maritimes.
Venessa joined the eye care team in September 2018. She will be one of the first people you'll meet
upon arrival. She is part of the team in both the Digby and Annapolis offices.
Quinton has just recently joined our team following graduation from the optician program offered by
Oulton College in Moncton.
Originally from the Annapolis Royal area, he spent several years in Halifax and Montreal working for an
online contact lens dispensary. This led him to pursue a career in eye care.
Quinton worked at our Annapolis and Digby locations as a student and is excited to become a member of
