Originally from Saint-Basile, in northwest New Brunswick, Dr. Levesque graduated from University of
Waterloo in 1994. He then moved to Halifax where he worked for a year and a half. Dr. Levesque purchased
the Liverpool office in 1996 and started another one in Digby that same year. He really enjoys
practicing in friendly rural Nova-Scotia. He is licensed to prescribe medication to treat ocular
infection, dry eyes and ocular allergies in addition to removing foreign bodies.
Dr. Levesque has always been very involved in the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists and served on
council of that organization for four years. Most of his time outside the office is now being spent with
his young kids and wife. When he has some spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, downhill skiing,
swimming, sailing and playing tennis.
Tanya graduated from the Accounting Program at the Nova Scotia Community College in 1993. She has been
in the optometric field since 1994, joining Dr. Levesque's practice in July of 1996. She completed the
Optometric Assistant course in July of 2000. As well as fitting eye glasses, she does the book keeping
for all three locations. Tanya spends her spare time with her two children and cocker spaniel Macie.
Heather graduated from the Hospitality Administration program at the University College of Cape Breton
in 1987 and she joined Dr. Levesque's practice in July 1996. She completed the Optometric Assistants
course in August 1999 when it first became available in Canada. Heather spends her free time with her
husband, Rob, and their two children Amelia and Rhys.
Wendy joined Dr. Levesque's practice in 1997. Starting out on a part-time basis and has been working
full time since 2000. She completed the Optometric Assistant course in July 2002. Wendy spends her free
time with her husband Steve and granddaughter, Casey, at her cabin in Greenfield.
Joining our team in February 2008, Tanya graduated with a Hospitality & Tourism diploma from Lunenburg
Campus in 1999. Tanya completed the Optometric Assistant course in June of 2009. Tanya spends some of
her time in the eye glass dispensary and also in our edging lab. On Tanya’s days off she can be found
spending time with her husband, Todd and their three daughters, Lauren, Addison and Bree.
Julie joined our team in April of 2008. She completed the Optometric Assistant program in June of 2009.
She spends most of her time in our eye glass dispensary. Julie enjoys spending time with her husband
Raymond, daughter Kara and son Mitchell. When she has free time she likes to visit with family and
Dr Carol Doman
Heather graduated from the Annapolis Campus Community College in 1998 with a Diploma in Applied
Communication Arts. She graduated from the Halifax Campus Community College in 1999 and 2001 with
diplomas in Photography and Digital Imaging. Since returning to her hometown in 2001, she has operated
her own part time Photography business. In her free time she enjoys scenic photography and spending time
with her nephews.
Julie graduated from Dalhousie University in 1995 and from the Nova Scotia College of art and Design in
2000. After working as a metalsmith and custom jeweller for 14 years, her fascination with eyes and
vision brought her to the Liverpool Eye Care Center team. In her spare time she continues making
jewellery and painting. Julie lives in Liverpool with her 3 sons.
Dr. Sally Dickinson
Dr. Sally Dickinson was born in Halifax, NS and graduated from Armbrae Academy in 2009 before
continuing her education at Dalhousie University. She received her Bachelor of Science with honours in
neuroscience in 2013. She followed her interest in the visual sciences by pursuing a Doctor of Optometry
degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours in 2017.
As part of her training, Dr. Dickinson did an ocular disease and therapeutics placement with Eye Centers
of South Florida in Miami, Florida where she expanded her clinical knowledge on managing and treating
many eye and systemic diseases.
Dr. Dickinson is very pleased to return to her home in the Maritimes and join the Liverpool Eye Care
Center team as an associate. In her leisure time, she enjoys cooking and baking, travelling, reading,
stand-up paddle boarding, and exploring the many beautiful beaches and hiking trails the east coast has
Dr Jeffrey Clarke
Dr. Jeffrey Clarke originally grew up in southwestern Ontario, where he began working in optometry clinics in 2002. He went to the University of Waterloo for his Bachelor of Science, before going on to study Opticianry at Georgian College (Barrie, Ontario). Dr. Clarke continued his studies at Aston University (Birmingham, UK) and obtained his Masters of Optometry degree in 2013. During his time at Aston, he received the Elsevier award for best overall performance in clinics.
While completing his Optometry degree, Dr. Clarke underwent an internship at the Royal Derby Hospital (Derby, UK) and worked at optometry practices in both Long Eaton and Dover, UK. Dr. Clarke was a council member of the UK Association of Optometrists, where he sat on the membership committee and helped share the student’s voice on council.
After returning back to Canada, Dr. Clarke has been practicing in Alliston, Ontario before he and his fiancé decided to move to Nova Scotia. He is excited to put down roots in the Maritimes and looks forward to getting involved in the community.
